The Filipino community have literally put the Philippines on the virtual map of SecondLife. Way to go Pinoys!

It is nice to meet our fellow Filipinos from different part of the world with different dialects and languages and being proud for being a Pinoy (Filipino)! There might still be a few who hides their heritage and unfortunately that is their loss! Filipinos in SecondLife are growing. They are getting more competitive in the in-world commerce, creative and most of all we are one! Oh and I almost forgot.. who got the best looking avatars in Secondlife?... Us! :-) That is why, Filipinos are also conquering the modeling world in SL. And not just that, there are many pinoys who are excellent in building, designing clothes and shoes, animations, furniture makers, photography, etc. We are showing the world how great and talented Filipinos are.

Where to find them on SL? They are everywhere! Some Pinoys even have their sims opened up for ''Tambayan'' (hang out) like Sayawan Paradise, L's Dance Club and others. Some are busy shop owners, others are having a good time partying at clubs. Then, there are some who you can watch on ramp, showing off their skills in modeling and others are gathered up doing 'kwentuhan' (chatting) on some friend's home. Send an IM on a Filipino group and you'll get a warm welcome from everyone. But then again, not everyone goes partying of course. There are also those who come to SL to learn. Some attend english classes to be able to learn the language well and speak it fluently with voice discussion exercises.

It is a fact that Filipinos love social networking, and after friendster, myspace, facebook.. now, we are on SecondLife. Here, we are given a chance and a medium to show off our limitless artistic and design talents, to meet other residents from different country and to learn.

To name some successful pinoys in SL, there is Shai Delacroix, an excellent clothes designer who showcases our very own Terno and Barong Tagalog. The owner of Maldita Animation, Modesta Heying, best selling AOs in SL. Kabalyero Kidd and his 3 stars and a Sun and his famous fishing rods. Lora Hennesy, who might be living in Germany but very much proud Pinoy, owner of L's Dance Club, one of the longest running club in SL. Imlon Galicia, a brilliant prefab builder, you can find his works anywhere on the grid. Alette Gears, one of the first Filipino shoe makers in SL, sells affordable and pretty shoes. Lucretia Svenska, a furniture builder who designs low prim and quality furnitures. Macy Arida, owner of a MA Modeling Agency. And a lot more whom I will be featuring on this blog! Soon you will be reading stories of their success and/or mishaps on SL!

As we Pinoys continue to engage and thrive in SecondLife community and our presence continues to grow, we demonstrate our passion, artistic abilities and our rich Filipino culture to other residents. let us continue to be the first-class Filipino in SecondLife. No matter what we are in SL, our being Pinoy will still flourish. Let us make an amazing SL Pinoy community together.

Proud to be a Filipino! Mabuhay!
